Whilst I use this trick, I can't ask all of my users to implement it. In a similar vein, as a workaround, you can force the iDevice to send the mail as HTML by including formatted text in the signature. I have suggested this to them multiple times, but until they do I would like to handle it correctly anyway. Some would argue that Apple should force this case to HTML. In a similar vein to this forum topic viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12790, I would like to implement a server side solution to handle this case, so that people see the full message as plain text instead of a multitude of ATT0000X.txt attachments. However, if you attach a picture to a plain text email, then the iDevice sends it as RTF format. If you attach a picture to an HTML mail then it sends it as an attachment. The iOS Mail app by default sends mail as plain text or, if the message contains formatted text, then as HTML. I am having an issue handling RTF mail sent from a iPhone/iPad.
